Study in Austria.

Introduction.

Austria is a beautiful country located in Central Europe. The country has a rich cultural heritage and boasts of having some of the best universities in Europe. Austria has many universities that offer quality education at reasonable prices. Therefore, it is an ideal place to study abroad as a student or researcher.

Education System.

Austria has a very good education system. Education is free from age 6 to 18 and most students choose one of the three types of schooling that are offered: general, vocational or academic.

Austria has many universities, including some large and well-known ones such as the University of Vienna or the University of Graz. There are also many smaller but equally high-quality universities in Austria such as Höhere Bundeslehranstalt fur Schotten (HBLS) which is located in Linz and offers courses in business studies, computer science and engineering as well as other subjects like law and economics

Cost of Education & Living.

  • Tuition Fees: In Austria, tuition fees vary depending on the university or college you choose to attend. There are three types of universities in Austria: public, private and international. The public universities are free for Austrian citizens but international students face an average cost of €15,000 per year. Private universities charge an average annual fee of €9,000 for undergraduate programs as well as post graduate studies.
  • Cost of Living: The cost of living in Vienna is quite high compared to other cities in Europe such as London and Paris where it’s difficult to earn enough money after paying rent or accommodation costs. If you live outside Vienna then it might be easier for you to find affordable accommodation at a reasonable price but if that’s not possible then we recommend looking up some scholarships offered by host institutions which can help reduce tuition fees paid during your stay abroad (for example Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Programme).
  • Cost Of Housing And Food: Renting an apartment near campus could cost anywhere between €600 – €1,500 per month while monthly food shopping may vary from €200 – 400 depending on whether they live alone or with roommates/flatmates etc…

Visa Requirements.

The visa requirements and costs vary depending on your reason for travel. The most important thing to know is that if you have a partner, children or other family members who are Austrian citizens or permanent residents, they can accompany you to Austria without any additional paperwork.

If you’re coming to Austria as a tourist:

  • Single entry visas are valid for 90 days and allow multiple entries within the specified period of time
  • Multiple entry visas allow multiple entries within the specified period of time, but cannot be used indefinitely (usually up to five years)
  • Transit visas may be required if traveling through an airport in Europe on your way somewhere else

Bachelor’s Degrees.

Austria offers some of the best Bachelor’s degrees in Europe. Bachelor’s degrees are generally three years long, but can be four years long depending on the field of study and university. Bachelor’s degrees are available in a variety of fields including science, social sciences, and the arts. Professional fields such as business administration or engineering also have their own specializations at this level.

Master’s Degrees.

Master’s degrees are for students who have completed their bachelor’s degree and want to study further. If you want to work in a specific field, such as social work or medicine, a master’s degree will provide you with the knowledge and skills that employers value.

Master’s degrees are offered in a wide range of subjects at both universities and private institutions. The length of time it takes to complete one varies from three to five years full-time study or up to eight years part-time study.

Some courses allow you to earn your master’s while working full-time by studying part-time on campus or online just one night per week! You can choose whether you’d like your course full-time (all day) or part time (one evening per week).

Doctoral Degrees.

  • Doctoral degrees are usually awarded after a master’s degree, and they require students to do original research. Most doctoral programs are research-based, meaning that each student must complete a thesis. The length of time for completion varies between disciplines, but most doctoral degrees take about four years to earn.
  • There are many different kinds of doctoral degrees: some have no specific focus (e.g., “Doctor of Philosophy”), while others have specific focuses (e.g., “Doctor of Engineering”). In addition to the various types of doctorates, there is another important distinction between them—the type of funding that is awarded:
  • D.: This type of degree is awarded by universities or other higher learning institutions; this means you will receive tuition assistance from them during your studies
  • Doktorexamen/Dr.-Ing./Dr.-Sc./Dr.-Oecon/etc.: These types are funded by companies or organizations that sponsor the person who receives it

Conclusion.

Austria is a beautiful country that offers many opportunities for students. It has a great education system, high quality universities and colleges, as well as affordable living costs. There are many different degrees available at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including doctoral degrees in different subjects such as engineering or medicine.
