OOPS! CDC Walks Back Claim That Vaccinated People Can’t Carry COVID

Whenever the state of mass hysteria over COVID finally ends, the biggest casualties may well end up being what were once the most trusted institutions in America.

Not only have the nation’s foremost health organizations like the CDC been inconsistent and often wrong, but the Democrats’ weaponization of the virus to achieve a political agenda has created a sense of skepticism that did not previously exist.

Now the CDC has once again flip-flopped, this time walking back the claim by Biden’s newly installed director Dr. Rochelle Walensky about people who have been vaccinated can no longer carry the virus.

Early in the week, Walensky said that “vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don’t get sick.” She also said that “it’s not just in the clinical trials, it’s also in real-world data.” During her appearance on MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show, she added; “And that it’s not just in the clinical trials, it’s also in real-world data.”

That prompted a response from the CDC in which it contradicted its own director; another black mark on the agency’s credibility.

In comments to the New York Times, a CDC spokesperson clarified that; “Dr. Walensky spoke broadly during this interview,” said an agency spokesperson to the New York Times; adding that “It’s possible that some people who are fully vaccinated could get COVID-19. The evidence isn’t clear whether they can spread the virus to others. We are continuing to evaluate the evidence.”

The Times story also quotes several doctors and medical professionals who expressed dismay over Dr. Walensky’s comments.

According to Dr. Peter Bach of New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; “There cannot be any daylight between what the research shows — really impressive but incomplete protection — and how it is described.”

He added that “This opens the door to the skeptics who think the government is sugarcoating the science and completely undermines any remaining argument why people should keep wearing masks after being vaccinated.” Comments that would seem to indicate that the masks are going to be permanent.

Also quoted is John Moore, an expert on viruses at Weill Cornell Medicine; “If Dr. Walensky had said most vaccinated people do not carry virus, we would not be having this discussion,” in a blow to the credibility of Biden’s CDC director.

“What we know is the vaccines are very substantially effective against infection — there’s more and more data on that — but nothing is 100%,” he added. “It is an important public health message that needs to be gotten right.” He added.

The fact that Walensky’s flub put her at odds with the CDC was bad enough but that she did it on MSNBC and with Rachel Maddow on a purely political program on a network that is a de facto propaganda arm of the Democratic party was worse.

And she did after bizarre White House COVID briefing where she spoke of “impending doom” over a “fourth surge” as the Biden regime desperately tries to keep the fear alive to prolong the COVID crisis for as long as possible due to purely political reasons.

Like the Justice Department and the FBI and the CIA, the CDC has become politicized and millions of Americans now view it with suspicion and a distrust that is unlikely to go away anytime soon.
