Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is calling for an alliance with China to combat “climate change” as she called it an “overriding” issue that the two nations need to work together on.
The comments from the speaker came on Thursday while speaking at Cambridge University in the U.K. Pelosi, who was taking questions from the audience, spoke on the future relationship between the United States and China.
An audience member asked Pelosi about universities’ who are pushing back against the Chinese Communist Party. In response, the speaker said the United States and China need to team up to address climate change despite China’s human rights abuses and corruption.
“We’ve always felt connected to China, but with their military aggression in the South China Sea, with their continuation of genocide with the Uyghurs in Xinjiang province there, with their violation of the cultural, linguistic, religious priority of Tibet, with their suppression of democracy in Hong Kong and other parts of China, as well,” Pelosi said. “They’re just getting worse in terms of suppression and freedom of speech. So, human rights, security, economically.”
“Having said all of that … we have to work together on climate. Climate is an overriding issue and China is the leading emitter in the world. U.S., too, developed world, too. But we must work together,” Pelosi said. “We have to have a level of communication on whether it’s COVID, whether it’s terrorism, or whether it’s climate. We still have to have some communication and dialogue with China on that. But the situation in China is tightening, it’s getting worse.”

Pelosi’s trip to the U.K. was a total clown show considering she spent most of her time blasting Trump supporters and praising China.
During one of her first speeches in the United Kingdom during her trip, Pelosi thought it would be a good time to trash Trump supporters while representing the United States overseas.
The speaker referred to the 80 million Trump supporters as a “cult” as she continued to divide America and turn the world against former President Donald Trump and his supporters.
“It is a privilege to join my G7 colleagues in the United Kingdom to discuss a top priority for legislatures and governments across the world: how to balance security and openness, particularly in light of challenges from the coronavirus pandemic, cyberthreats and terrorism,” said Speaker Nancy Pelosi. “Public access to the workings of government is a cornerstone of democracy, and it is therefore imperative that parliaments and legislatures remain as open and transparent to the public as possible. We need to hear from – and be accountable to – those we are privileged to represent, as we work to deliver results in their lives.”
“I say to my Republican friends, and I do have some,” Pelosi said with a laugh. “Take back your party. You’re the grand ole party of America. You’ve done wonderful thinks for our country. You have now been hijacked by a cult that is just not good for our country. Take back your party. Don’t let it be dominated by those who want to suppress the vote because they do not have a positive message to win. They want to suppress the vote and that is how they would win.”
