Former first lady Melania Trump hit back at her former press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, who is set to release a new book that allegedly reveals many new “scandals” during the previous administration.

Politico managed to obtain an advance copy of Grisham’s upcoming book, “I’ll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw in The Trump White House.”

The publication reports, “At 1:25 p.m. on Jan. 6, soon after rioters had broken through barricades outside of the Capitol, MELANIA TRUMP received a text message from her then-chief of staff, STEPHANIE GRISHAM.”

According to the book, the text from Grisham supposedly read, “Do you want to tweet that peaceful protests are the right of every American, but there is no place for lawlessness and violence?”

“A minute later, Melania replied with a one-word answer: ‘No.’ At that moment, she was at the White House preparing for a photo shoot of a rug she had selected,” according to excerpts of Grisham’s book.

As reported by Conservative Brief, the first lady did put out a statement a few days later.

“I am disappointed and disheartened with what happened last week,” the first lady’s statement said. “I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me – from people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda. This time is solely about healing our country and its citizens. It should not be used for personal gain.”

“Our Nation must heal in a civil manner,” Melania Trump added. “Make no mistake about it, I absolutely condemn the violence that has occurred on our Nation’s Capitol. Violence is never acceptable.”

But the Politico story prompted a response from the first lady’s office.

“The intent behind this book is obvious. It is an attempt to redeem herself after a poor performance as press secretary, failed personal relationships, and unprofessional behavior in the White House,” her office said in a statement to the outlet.

“Through mistruth and betrayal, she seeks to gain relevance and money at the expense of Mrs. Trump.”

A publishing source told Axios that Grisham is revealing “surprising new scandals.”

“When I heard this, all I could think about was Stephanie surrounded by a lake of gasoline, striking a match with a grin on her face,” one former colleague told Axios.

“There isn’t enough water on earth to contain the fire she could set to all of Trump world, including parts like the first lady’s orbit, which not many people are in a position to illuminate,” the source continued. “It’s hard to articulate how much anxiety this is going to cause.”
