U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is apparently not going to take any responsibility for the border crisis that Joe Bide and his administration created.
During an interview on MSNBC, Mayorkas told host Andrea Mitchell that the historic surge in illegal border crossings is a “challenge” while casting blame on the Trump administration.
Mitchell asked: “How does one government agency handle all of these threats? Joining me now is the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas. Secretary Mayorkas, thank you so much for being with us. You’ve got your hands full, so I wanted to — let’s start with the border. Migrant numbers are exploding at the border. It’s the worst we’ve seen in 21 years. And usually, there is a diminution in the summer, usually, these numbers go down in the summer. Why are they continuing to surge? And what can you do about it? The messaging does not seem to take. People in the triangle are not hearing the message ‘Don’t come.’”
“We certainly have a challenge at the border. We have remarkable people to address that challenge and a plan in place that we are executing. Let me, if I can, share with you what makes the challenge so acute at this point in time,” Mayorkas said.
“We are following an administration that, frankly, dismantled our capabilities to address it, and so we are building it from the ground up. We lost four years of investing in the countries from which these individuals are migrating. Our safe and orderly systems were torn down, and so we’re rebuilding them. And our plan is in place and we’re executing it,” he added.
Mayorkas then said the Biden administration wants to “invest” taxpayer dollars to investigate the “root causes to address the reason why people leave their homes to take the perilous journey.”
The Joe Biden border crisis is getting worse by the day and most Americans probably have no idea just how bad things have gotten.
Fox News reporter Bill Melugin featured an explosive segment this week detailing how U.S. Border Patrol apprehended over 20,000 illegal aliens at the Del Rio Crossing in Texas in just one week.
“The Border Patrol sector chief down in the Rio Grande Valley just put out on Twitter that this week alone, in one week, they apprehended more than 20,000 migrants in one week just in that sector. That’s enough to fill the entire capacity of Staples Center,” Melugin said.
A new projection from Princeton Policy Advisors reveals that more than 1.8 million illegal immigrants are expected to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in 2021.
The group said it would mark the “worst ever” on record, which is another stunning reminder of how bad things have gotten under Joe Biden, the Washington Examiner reported.
The group said that would be 250,000 more than the next highest number recorded in 2000.
